In this gorgeous, highly coveted archival 1950's ivory crème silk-faille gown, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern couture. This captivating custom made garment looks identical to the one actress June Havoc wore. Sparkling prong-set rhinestones mixed with elaborate glass beadwork give the garment so much depth and texture. This workmanship alone must have taken weeks. The bodice has a flattering duel thin-strap sculpted sweetheart nipped-waist framed by large dangling pearls. I love the dramatic three-dimensional back bow which really makes a statement. The flattering front ruched wiggle skirting finishes this showstopper in a perfect "Old Hollywood" style. As pictured, though we do not have written authentication, we believe this gown belonged to Joan Havoc. The documentation, source and measurements point in this direction. A beautiful one-of-a-kind garment that would definitely make an unforgettable bridal or red carpet look. Moreover, they hail from legendary Phoenix department store "Hanny's," now an über-cool cocktail bar that kept the old dressing rooms and display windows. Stiletto heel slingback sandal of bone leather; adjustable buckle strap continues around ankle and attaches to vamp embellished with a handmade leather peony. This enchanting 1990s printed silk 2 piece set is comprised of a simple shift dress and bolero to be worn as either as an ensemble or separates. The aesthetic is playful, summery and feminine and presents easily as formal or informal attire. The soft ivory silk is slightly embossed with an irregular texture atop a vibrant rose print design in sugar pink, canary yellow, sapphire blue and emerald green. The dress is sleeveless and broad straps are gathered at the shoulders. The full circle skirt is gathered into tight uniform pleats below the waist and flares generously to the calf. The hem is fluted in yellow satin to match the pretty satin rosette embellishments that feature on the waistband and atop of each shoulder. The bodice is lined in ivory silk. The jacket has three quarter length sleeves which are gathered at the shoulder and the cuff to create an understated fairytale puff. The wide cuffs are embellished with satin rosettes to complement those on the dress, and the seams are fluted in matching yellow ribbon. This piece has a collarless round neck and falls into a central button stand which curves at the hem and hosts 4 x yellow lucite buttons. Tailoring below the bust brings the jacket neatly in at the waist when fastened, and a pretty peplum flares out over the hips. The peplum detail becomes more exaggerated at the reverse, where it is gathered into pleats to mirror the skirt.
