About the Item
This is a stunning vintage 1980's Geoffrey Beene evening gown with a black wool knit bodice and a long skirt with an ultra high waistband in black and green striped iridescent pleated taffeta skirt with lace trim on the hem. This dress is important piece from Geoffrey Beene's archive. Geoffrey Beene was famous for mixing unexpected fabrics in his evening wear and this dress is a beautiful example of that! We grab his more unique pieces whenever we can find them and we absolutely love this dress!
The silhouette feaures a slight high low hem, a gathered skirt with an ultra high waist, and a fitted bodice with long sleeves and a low scoop neck. The dress closes with hook-and-eyes and black metal zippers.
