Exceptional vintage ANN LAWRENCE for NEIMAN MARCUS back and silver beaded evening silk gown! Features hand painted metallic silver 'platters' throughout the entire dress! Thousands of tiny sequins and beads hand-sewn throughout the entire bodice and sleeves. Ann Lawrence was a go-to designer for socialites and Hollywood starlets throughout the 1980s. Her dresses were often custom made, and it was common for the prices to be $10,000 and upwards, even back then! This beauty obviously took many hours and days to create, as the workmanship is very clear! Heavy duty textured silk. Built in support, with hidden zipper up the back and hook-and-eye closures. Slight peek-a-boo in the back. Hidden snaps at each sleeve cuff. Fitted bodice with an incredible full skirt. This is quite the entrance maker, and is extremely flattering. In great condition. Made in USA.
