Vintage 2006 Alexander McQueen Documented White Silk Chain Plunge High-Slit Gown

About the Item

Ethereal, highly coveted 2006 white documented runway show-stopper from the late and great Alexander Mcqueen. He was known for combining superb tailoring with a dramatic aesthetic inspired by various historical periods, British and Celtic tribalism and sexually charged fetish wear. McQueen's thematic shows were as much theater as fashion, with each piece of clothing worked into a dramatic narrative plotted by McQueen. The fabric on this gorgeous gown is a fully-lined ivory white silk-crepe that has a bit of a stretch to it. I love the built-in gold chain collar, illusion net plunge bodice and lean, long zipper-wrist sleeves. This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hip and flares out below the knee with a dramatic thigh-high slit. A hard-to-find and iconic early Alexander McQueen treasure. Measurements Marked a size 40 Bust: 32-34 inches Waist: 27-28 inches Hips: best up to 38 inches Total Length: 63 inches This rare 2006 Alexander McQueen runway gown is in beautiful condition with no rips, holes or stains. Perfectly working back-zipper. Runway belt not included. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.

He was known for his flattering body-conscious clothing in jersey and silks. This simple yet dynamic cocktail is a perfect example of his genius. The whole garment is fashioned with pastel hue glass-beads layered on embroidered light...
