Eminem 1999 (unframed) photo figurative contemporary red portrait
By Chris Buck
Located in New York, NY
CHRIS BUCK Born 1964, Toronto, Canada Lives and works in New York, NY Eminem 1999 Ed 10 Artist Statement: For any serious photographer their best portraits are ultimately also self-portraits. The discomfort, oddness and frustration in my photographs are the evidence of my uneasiness. As I've grown more mature and more comfortable in my skin I've been able to recognize the struggle and vulnerability in my sitters, bringing my work to a point of collaboration with them. Where once I sought conflict with the subjects now we work to build something strange and wonderful together. Solo Exhibitions 2017 Uneasy, Krause Gallery, New York, NY 2014 Turn of the Century Portraiture, Galerie Youn, Montreal, QC 2013 Presence: The Invisible Portrait, Foley Gallery, New York, NY 2002 The Sound of Music: New portraits of Contemporary Musicians, Other Music, New York 1998 FanClub, Saba Gallery, New York, NY Group Exhibitions 2016 Winning the White House: From Press Prints to Selfies, curated by Susan Carlson and Claartje van Dijk for the International Center of Photography, New York, NY; exhibited at the Southampton Arts Center, Southhampton, NY 2013 Rebels, curated by Carl Saytor, Photoville Brooklyn. 2012 Traces of Myth. "Ohromo" lenticular abstract 3-D photograph contemporary
By Chris Dean
Located in New York, NY
Chris Dean is a Detroit based artist specializing in the medium of lenticular printmaking. Dean's brightly colored work uses lenticular's unique capacity for illusion to create interactive compositions of depth and motion. The visually dense work prioritizes direct experience and focuses on the intersection of the recognizable and the unfamiliar. Dean began exploring lenticular and related processes as a student at San Jose State in the mid 90's during the rise in interest in virtual reality technologies. Working first with stereoscopic processes and later lenticular, Dean has spent the years exploring approaches to these interactive mediums. Dean has exhibited widely in the United States and beyond and is the owner of the lenticular production company Midwest Lenticular. #19, 1970s Nightclubs of Chicago South Side - Rare Vintage Silver Gelatin Print
Located in London, GB
A camera is a window through which a photographer interacts with the world, and it's up to the operator to decide whether his camera will be a barrier or a mirror between he and his subjects. In the 1970s, Michael Abramson chose the latter path when he brought his camera to Pepper's Hideout on Chicago's South Side. Following in the footsteps of his acknowledged influence Gyula Halász, a Hungarian photographer better known as Brassaï who became the pre-eminent chronicler of the Paris nightlife he loved so much, Abramson initiated himself into the nightlife of Chicago's predominantly black neighbourhoods. He was very much a part of the scene he documented on film, drinking, laughing, and dancing with his subjects into small hours and becoming as much a part of the atmosphere as the locals who frequented the same nightspots he did. - Joe Tangari (Numero Group, 2009) This series won Abramson a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts in 1978 and launched his career as a photojournalist. Eventually the project resulted in a hardbound book, Light: On the South Side, including the Grammy and Mojo nominated album, featuring Chicago blues...

Prints are on active consignment from the estate of Antonio Lopez. Purchase includes certificates of authenticity from the estate of Antonio Lopez. These Kodak prints are not signed by Antonio Lopez. Antonio Lopez Biography - The foremost fashion illustrator of the 1970s and 80s, Antonio (as he signed his work) was and remains one of the most highly regarded and influential figures in the fashion world. While not initially known as a photographer, Antonio was rarely without his favorite Instamatic camera, and as his career progressed he turned increasingly to photography to create fashion stories, portraits, and elaborate mise-en-scènes. A serial Svengali, as the writer Karin Nelson noted: “Lopez brilliantly transformed the women in his world. Under his tutelage, Jerry Hall, a long tall Texan he met at Paris’s Club Sept, evolved into a golden goddess. He put Jessica Lange in gold lamé evening dresses after discovering her in Paris studying mime, and gave aspiring model Tina Lutz her start (and an introduction to future husband Michael...
