Rod Quesada studied at the Otis College of Art and Design, San Francisco Art Institute, The Art Students League New York and La Esmeralda National School of Art, Mexico City. He painted portraits of Dorothy Lamour and Betty Grable. In San Francisco, he worked with portrait painter Thomas Leighton in 1959.
