A.E. Hull Antique Victorian Blue & White Salt Glaze Stoneware Pitchers Cows
By Hull Pottery
Located in Dayton, OH
"A.E Hull salt glaze pitchers, circa 1880s. Features grazing cows and apricot and cherries. A.E. Hull began his career working in Crooksville with his older brother J.J. Hull at The Star Stoneware, before starting his new company. J.J. started helped start a new company, The Acme, which produced fine china. Later The Hull Pottery took over the Acme buildings. J.J. had four sons who remained active in the local family pottery businesses, John, Floyd, Russell and Ralph W Hull. The company's success continued and, over the next several years, the business expanded. In the 1920s, the A.E. Hull Pottery Company maintained its general offices and factories in Crooksville and had an office and a showroom located in New York, offices in Chicago and Detroit and a large warehouse in New Jersey.[1] It was also during the 1920s that Hull began expanding the variety of his company's product line to art pottery. The company also began using a broader variety of colors and glazing techniques with its products. The various Hull relatives often represented the companies of other relatives in addition to their own. A.E. Hull died in 1930. Addis E. Hull, Jr. succeeded his father in the management of the business. Hull, Jr. left the company in 1937 to become the General Manager of the Shawnee Pottery...

Collection of Four Vintage Pottery Pieces Aubergine Yellow Plum Green Swirl
By Hull Pottery, Frankoma Pottery
Located in Topeka, KS
Handsome collection of four vintage pottery pieces including an aubergine bowl, Hull yellow vase, plum or eggplant Frankoma ewer, and a swirl green with purple pot. They are all in wonderful vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or chiggers. The swirl pot does have drip marks that I’m not sure are from age or the original dipping process which created the swirl, but it does not detract from the beauty of the piece. Please see photos. We have priced these as a set of four, circa 20th century. Because they look so beautiful together, we are selling these four amazing 20th century American pottery pieces as a set. Maybe it’s a start of a collection for you or maybe you just love them for their looks! The first piece is a gorgeous aubergine bowl which is unsigned but through research we attribute it to Dryden due to its wonderful matte glaze. The second piece is marked. It is a Hull early 1920s vase with a very unusual golden yellow and green with touches of plum or aubergine gloss glaze. It is absolutely stunning! The third piece is also signed. It is an ewer by Frankoma the famous Oklahoma pottery. Glazed in either their plum or eggplant color which is so deep it is almost black in some of the photos. The fourth and last piece is a bit of a puzzle and it is unmarked. Its fabulous swirl green, yellow, with touches of aubergine remind us of both Nemadji pottery...
