Hijack Prints and Multiples

American, b. 1992

Hijack, born in 1992, started as an underground street artist, silently stenciling the Los Angeles streets at night.

In April 2013, Hijack took the United Kingdom art scene by storm with his gallery debut at the prestigious Mead Carney Fine Art gallery on Dover street in London. The show was so highly anticipated that it sold out and extended, due to incredulous high demand. Works including Never too Young to Dream Big and Perfection is False struck a chord with the crowd. When Hijack took his vision to the streets, spraying a stencil of Never too Young to Dream Big in London, it quickly caught the attention of U.K. news outlets and websites. The Mead Carney exhibition garnered buzz and Hijack’s landmark debut was featured in Art of England’s June 2013 issue, Huffington Post UK, The Art Newspaper and The Telegraph, to name just a few.

Hijack was invited, along with Mr. Brainwash, to do an exhibit at the Dieresis Cultural Center in Guadalajara, Mexico. The exhibit was extended for months, attracting large crowds, drawing a mass of media attention and delighting art collectors and audiences internationally. In June of 2014, Hijack mounted a solo show at Galerie Moretti & Moretti, one of Paris’s best contemporary galleries, entitled “Life Through Street Art.” In November of 2014, an exhibition at Japan’s Gallery 21 created an avalanche of press for Hijack, including a feature in Vogue Japan. In addition to his gallery shows and solo street-art installations, Hijack also collaborates with other internationally renowned street artists, including New York’s Cope and Japan’s Dragon 76.

In early 2015, Hijack continued to take his art all over the globe with a show at the Artvera’s Gallery in Gstaad, Switzerland at the Gstaad Palace Hotel, done in partnership with Swiss watchmaker Hublot. While his art was being exhibited in Switzerland, Hijack’s works were also on display at the Wall Street Gallery in Beverly Hills for the group show, “Revolution.” The Wall Street Gallery show contained several of Hijack’s captivating works, including You can mimic the result but not the creativity.

In 2016, Hijack created a limited edition series of skateboards in collaboration with other artists such as Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst and John Baldessari. In 2017, Hijack brought sensational energy to both Art Miami and Art Palm Beach. For Hijack, art is a lifestyle and a passion, as his signature style is steeped in positivity and presents a bright future for the next generation of contemporary art.

Hijack is based currently in Los Angeles, California, where he continues to work as a street artist and contemporary phenomenon. In a manner that mirrors the meteoric rise of contemporary masters such as Damien Hirst, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring, Hijack is gaining popularity with contemporary collectors from all over the world and shows no signs of slowing down.

BARELY LEGAL SET
By Banksy
Located in Aventura, FL
Banksy's Barely Legal is a set of six screen prints on paper named after the Barely Legal exhibition held in 2006 in a warehouse in Los Angeles. From the unsigned edition and each numbered 59/500 (there are also 17 artist's proofs). Published by Modern Multiples Fine Art Editions, Los Angeles, with Pictures on Walls and the publisher's blindstamp. Pest Control authentication certificates included. The Barely Legal Set includes the following: Grannies (22.05 x 29.92 inches) Sale Ends (22.05 x 29.92 inches) Applause (29.92 x 44.89 inches) Trolleys (22.05 x 29.92 inches) Festival (22.05 x 29.92 inches) Morons (22.05 x 29.92 inches) About the Artist: Banksy (British, born 1974) is a contemporary street artist and activist who, despite his international fame, has maintained an anonymous identity. Aimed as a form of cultural criticism, the artist often targets established social and political agendas with his witty illustrations produced with stencils and spray paint in cities such as New Orleans, New York, and Paris. “The art world is the biggest joke,” he said. “It’s a rest home of the over privileged, the pretentious, and the weak.” Although details of the artist’s life are largely unknown, it is thought that Banksy was born in Bristol, United Kingdom, c. 1974, starting his career as a graffiti artist in the city. Better Out Than In, Banksy’s month-long residency in New York during October 2013, featured a man hawking the artist’s paintings for $60 a piece outside Central Park. In 2015, Banksy opened Dismaland Bemusement Park, a temporary art exhibition that functioned as a theme park. After a 36-day run, its workers and materials were sent to the Calais migrant camp in France to build additional housing. Among the artist's most famous stunts include his shredded painting: When a painting by Banksy was sold at auction for $1.4 million in 2018, a mechanism was triggered to cause the artwork to partially destroy itself, resulting in a new piece titled Love in the Bin (2018). The ongoing question as to who Banksy is continued to reach the headlines when in 2017 Robert Del Naja...

Hijack, 'Puzzled III' Unique Street Pop Art Painting, 2021
By Hijack
Located in New York, NY
The bright pop-art ‘Puzzled III' is a unique stencil, silkscreen, painting on paper by contemporary art prodigy and street-artist, Hijack. The street pop-art piece reflects the political and cultural divide in today’s society with vivid primary color and monochromatic background. The exclusive edtioned blue chip print was created in 2021. The street-art style of the work has saturated graffiti covered urban landscape background with multiple screen printed layers of colorful archival pigment on the Rubik's cube heads of the men in suits. Hijack's iconic 'Puzzled' imagery is reminiscent of graffitied murals and sets a tone of playful jest when examining the misunderstandings found in everyday life. Hijack has commented that the 'Puzzled' iconography is a message about the importance of seeing eye to eye with others and that most human relationships in life are complex despite willingness to problem solve. The ‘Puzzled III' painting is the quintessential contemporary street pop artwork, a unique piece as only one of one in existence. The hard lines, edgy detailing, and simplistic subject matter give viewers a glimpse into the mind of a modern-day Artist with a penchant for activism and innovative creativity that translates 'reality' with a humorous twist. The blue chip artwork on paper is signed by the Artist on the lower left front, stenciled and dated on verso. The work arrives in a custom made white glossy lacquer frame with hooks on reverse for effortless installation. Hijack has made a name for himself with a signature street art style that separates him from the crowd and his street art mentors, such as the legendary Banksy, Shepard Fairey, KAWS, and his father, Mr. Brainwash. Hijack’s work often comments on the contemporary world in a humorous, refreshing, and thought-provoking manner. His works are a revelation in street art, as his murals and installations are imaginative, brilliantly constructed, and seen in cultural hot spots around the globe. HIJACK, born in 1992, started as an underground street artist, silently stenciling the streets at night. In April 2013, Hijack took the United Kingdom art...

'Puzzled II' Street Pop Art on Canvas, 2020
By Hijack
Located in New York, NY
The street pop artwork ‘Puzzled II' on canvas with stenciled graffiti by contemporary street-artist prodigy Hijack, reflects the political and cultural divide in today’s society. The mulit-color silkscreen, acrylic, and mixed media pop art painting on canvas is a unique work, created in 2020. Featuring street art style and whimsical abstract graffiti elements, the bold stenciled outlines of men in suits with bright primary color Rubik's cube heads sets the tone of playful jest when examining the common misunderstandings in everyday life. Hijack has commented that his iconic 'Puzzled' imagery is a message about seeing eye to eye with others, that can apply to most human relationships in life in macro and micro scale. The abstract and vibrant ‘Puzzled’ II is signed by the artist on the lower front, dated verso, and comes in a metallic floating frame with wire on reverse for effortless installation. Hijack has made a name for himself with a signature street art meets fine art style that separates him from the crowd and his mentors, such as the legendary BANKSY, KAWS, Shepard Fairey and his father, Mr. Brainwash. Hijack’s work often comments on the contemporary world in a humorous, refreshing, and thought-provoking manner.
