Description : ceramic sculpture with chainmail base
Casey Whittier received her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and MFA from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her work investigates the fine line between the need to preserve and a desire to re-imagine, re-configure and re-contextualize the world around her.
Utilizing a variety of forming methods and clay bodies, Whittier recreates elements from nature, unites the landscapes of her reality with the landscapes of daydreams, exploits the visceral qualities of clay, and ponders the power of shared experience.
Through shifts in material, Whittier makes space for metaphorical possibilities to rise to the surface. An exploration of touch and intuitive making is deeply embedded in her studio practice and community-based projects.

A piece capturing the movement we all know from working with hammers. This piece is created with found objects and blown glass to capture this moment in time. The hammers and nails vary from piece to piece but the movement is always the same.
Robert Burch began working with glass in Atlanta, Georgia while still in high school. After graduating, he worked for the Japanese glassblower, Tadashi Torii for two years. It was there that Burch had the honor of working with the renown American glass artist, Martin Blank. In the span of five years, Burch learned many aspects of glass artistry as he worked for Blank. Subsequently, the team collaborated on color design teams for the glass empire company Chihuly Inc. During all these glass adventures, he never stopped shooting photos...

By Marie Laforey
Located in New York, NY
Marie Laforey is a self-taught artist based in New York, US who maintains a sustainable art practice using primarily organic material. Laforey enjoys the tactility of working with organic mediums and learning how to craft preserved moss, clay, feathers and other natural elements into beautiful abstract compositions. Primarily inspired by nature, repetition, patterns, texture and geometry are essential elements that are omnipresent in her works.
About Lapis and Flos series:
Laforey recent ceramic works are unique pieces that alter in patterns to give an illusion of movement and depth by using clay’s potential for building sculptural dimension. The repetitive use of a unique element, the circle is centered to her work. The circle has often been associated with the female and to Mother Earth. It has no beginning and no end, it is the whole, the essence of things. It symbolizes the ongoing energy found in nature.
