Arturo Mallmann
Arturo Mallmann was born in 1953 in Montevideo, Uruguay, and lived most of his life in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied sociology at the Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires and started out writing poetry and short stories before teaching himself to paint and draw. Mallmann has developed a technique consisting of painting and applying many layers of translucent acrylic colors between several coats of clear epoxy resin. This results in a three-dimensional space. The interaction of the layers of colors between the coats of transparent resin and the brilliant placement of humans in the background enhances the feeling of depth.
