This fierce-looking comforter personifies a protective side that draws on the title of the show in which the artwork was exhibited: ‘A l’enfant qui nous garde’. This sculpture dumbs down the theme of childhood in several ways, in particular with its wooden base, seen by the artist as a giant Kapla blocks recalling childhood.

- Passi - Male Portrait, Ceramic SculptureBy Cécile RaynalLocated in Paris, FRThis portrait is part of a series of sculptures designed by the artist during an eight-week art residency at a private hospital in Lyon (France). During several stays, the artist immersed herself into maternity life, crisscrossing the corridors with her sketchbook or modeling there and then in clay the portraits of the people who she came across, health professionals as well as patients. These sessions, marked with sensitive exchanges, created clay figures caught within the very particular circumstances of these encounters: the expectation of a happy event, always tinged with uncertainty for the future parents; passion and tension, constantly linked in the healthcare teams work.Category

- Tosca, Contemporary Bronze on Sandstone base SculptureLocated in WOOLLAHRA, AUArtist sculptor Taking her art from life and nature, Helena breaks down forms simplifying and playing with the uses of light and shadows. Sometimes staying true to a likeness, which is always the starting point, but sometimes her work will take on a much more abstract nature. Often she uses her experience as a graphic designer to create works with a digital starting point using flat plains that are then assembled into a 3d structure. Originally from the UK, Helena now resides and works in Sydney. Recently she has been working alongside Sculptor John Gardner. One piece that she was recently involved in was a commissioned 7 foot high cast bronze tree. They are presently collaborating on various other projects, as well as creating pieces individually.
