John Paul Robinson
Flames

2015

$8,500

About

This work, with three red glass elements, is a contemporary and abstract interpretation of fire. The reflected shadows on the wall and the red color of the glass combined to create the illusion of fire light. The sculpture is made of glass and copper which are fused together. Sculptor John Paul Robinson uses glass and metal to build metaphorical symbols of time, space, earth, fire and water. He has exhibited internationally and has works in important public collections throughout Canada and the US, including the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery. His works are in The Museum of Civilization (Ottawa), the Musee des Beaux Arts (Montreal), and the Museum of American Glass (Millville). The work can be easily mounted into drywall. Brackets are also provided for mounting onto other surfaces.
