Betty Woodman
Kabuki Space

2000

About the Item

Color woodcut, Edition 30. Betty Woodman’s woodcut “Kabuki Space” places images of a pair of her pots in an exuberant Japanese inspired stage-like interior. Woodman blends colors, patterns and forms to create a rich composition that relates to the inventiveness of her three-dimensional ceramic work. She has carefully selected the woodgrain of the nine hand-cut woodblocks to augment the composition and enhance the surface of the print.
