Very good condition. Unframed.
As an expressive colorist, Rene Couturier strives to give the surface of his canvases a jewel-like quality that illuminates and focuses on composition.
Whether he is painting open vistas or still-lives, the artist aims for a subtle intimacy with spontaneous gesture, vigorous texture and robust linear networks.
Born in 1933 in Dieppe on the cost of Normandy, Couturier attended the L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Marseilles.
Since completing his studies, the artist has lived in Mexico, the United States, Africa and France.
His work appears in exhibitions throughout the continents of Europe, North America and Africa.
