While some men try to wrestle the coach free, the driver has made a fire in a nearby cave, to warm a woman and child travelling with them. Very good example of this rare print. Handcoloured etching & aquatint on wove paper. Source unknown, to be determined. State: Only state. Reference: Fenaille 307. Made by Philip Louis Debucourt after own design. Philip Louis Debucourt (1755-1832) was a French painter and engraver, student of Vien, active in Paris. He specialised in large very finely worked aquatints.
