About

“Every Heart Can Grow Bigger” began as a response to the migration crisis in Europe; it has broadened into a story of women seeking a better life by helping each other and helping themselves. In spite of myths of self-reliance our best selves are social; the sophistication of our world is almost unfathomably interdependent. We want our lives to have a purpose, a meaning beyond survival. The meaning offered here is friendship. For this, we need others. Although it’s hard to believe hope is possible any more, every heart can grow bigger. We have to try. This CMS project grows out of the installation of the same name that will be shown at Gallery Stratford (Ontario) until October 6, 2019. Libby Hague, RCA, BFA Honors, Concordia University Montreal, Quebec, Canada Hague’s work examines humane and complex social relationships in our precarious and interconnected world. Her curiosity and love of invention led her to a hybrid prac-tice of printmaking and installation.
