A very rare showcase of Jugendstil art, ""Allegorien"" features original illustrations by the leading artists of the period (Klimt, Moser, and Leffler, to name but a few). The first 7 of 12 fascicles, This is the second series of ""Allegories"", with designs focusing on three main themes: ""Love, Music, wine, song and dance"", ""Arts and Sciences"" and ""Sports"". The plates feature a range of techniques and vary in coloring (some are monochromatic, others are in full color, or highlighted in gold, for example).
