FIRE DANCER is a limited edition color lithograph printed using traditional lithography methods on archival Arches paper, 100% acid free, by Lamar Briggs (1935-2015) American painter and Texas artist who was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is known as a masterful colorist whose art draws from music, nature, and love of life. inspired by nature, FIRE DANCER is a resplendent Yellow Orange, Red, Pink, Blue, Green abstract color burst, a bold free flowing, flame-like formation inspired by the sacred fire in Native American traditions. Print size - 21.75 x 29, unframed, mint condition, vivid colors, pencil signed by Lamar Briggs Year published - 1979 Artist Statement: "My approach to art is to open myself visually to the world around me as much as possible-by reading, traveling, collecting and just plain "seeing". Music and color 'flow' for me. I paint to music and the music and rhythm speak to me more than any external experience."

Edition size - 225, plus proofs Year - 1977 About the artist- Yona Lotan (1926-1998) Jewish engineer and painter was born in Lithuania. His family moved to Tel-Aviv, Palestine in 1936. He served as a high-ranking officer in the Israeli Army and fought in the War of Independence. In 1959 Yona Lotan began painting; he's considered a self-taught, outsider artist. Lotan always had the unquenchable desire to draw. His one-man shows in Israel and Geneva were so successful that he left the army, sold all his belongings and moved to Paris in 1960 in order to devote his life to painting. His art was vibrant and he became well known, not only in Europe, but also in the United States. In 1965 he won the coveted Prize of Foreign Painting given by the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris. Along with Maryan, Avigdor Arikha, Mordechai Ardon and Yaacov Agam. he was part of a group of Jewish emigre artists who worked in Paris. Paintings of Lotan are contained in the collections of: Musee National d'Art Modern, Paris, Pompidou Center, Paris Musee Municipal d'Art Modern, Paris. Museum Boymans, Rotterdam.
