This large one of a kind photo arrangement on 100% rag paper by Candice CMC measures 40x44", framed size is 48x52". The art consists of hundreds of extremely sharp images of donuts, photographed by Candice and arranged by her according to their tones, colors, values and intensity to create the portrait. Candice CMC uses the the donuts as her palette, the same as if she was creating the portrait with oil paints. She chooses the correct placement of just the right donut for each area of the art to form the iconic portrait. The art was created to appear as a pop art image of hundreds of random donuts when viewed up close. The WOW factor comes when you realize that they create the portrait when viewed from a distance or through your phone and you see the realistic portrait appear. At the gallery, collectors come in and say, we love donuts and then we tell them to take a picture of it with their phone, they hold up their phone and we immediately hear Oh Wow!
Candice CMC has created iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe, Einstein, The Joker, Alfred E. Neuman, Van Gogh, and Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, to name only a few. By composing these portraits, Candice is forging a unique style of photography and creating a unique new form of fine art photography.
