- Contemporary photograph by Hunter Barnes of boy with horse at local rodeoBy Hunter BarnesLocated in New York, NYThis work is an artist proof, archival silver gelatin, handprinted by the artist and signed on verso. Directly acquired from the artist. The framing is 100% archival, with the use of only acid frame materials. Glazing, Optium non glare museum plexi. Hand carved wooden hand finished frame. Hunter Barnes is a documentary photographer whose work captures aspects of culture and communities ignored by the mainstream and often misrepresented in the modern American narrative. In his early twenties, Hunter self published his first book, Redneck Roundup, documenting the dying communities of the Old West. Other projects followed: four years spent with the Nez Perce tribe; months with a serpent handling congregation in the Appalachain mountains; bikers, lowriders, and street gangs...Category

- Brandenburg 2013By Daniel KaneLocated in New Orleans, LAIn the famous story of the great 19th century photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, it is said she was given her first camera by her daughter as a way to occupy her time while her husband was away. In my case, as with so many others, the beginning of the story was equally fortuitous: Knowing I was about to spend a year abroad as an exchange student, my mother gave me my first camera, saying I would probably want to take pictures while I was away. One by one, my favorite films and papers have been driven from the market by digital media, but I remain loyal to this day to analog photography, and the originals of all of these images were made with real film, either color slides...Category
