David Bowie Aladdin Sane Eyes Open 40 x 40 inches / 101 x 101 cm paper size limited edition of 25 Archival Pigment Print Hand signed by David Bowie Edition 23/25 Taken by Duffy during the second of Five Sessions with David Bowie – This is an outtake from Duffy’s best-known photoshoot which dates from 1973. This session produced the iconic and revolutionary cover of David Bowie’s album Aladdin Sane, a shot that became the defining look of Bowie’s long career, and has been referred to as the “Mona Lisa of pop.” This “Eyes Open” image was unveiled for use in the record-breaking V&A exhibition – “David Bowie IS.” This image has led the tour around the world to Canada, Brazil, Germany, USA, France, Australia, The Netherlands, Japan, Italy, and Spain. Seen by over 2 million visitors this image is now often confused with the original as the 1973 Aladdin Sane album cover. This print was issued and authorized by the Duffy Estate.
