About the Item
This piece is a triptych of three original color photographs from the original negatives, shot by George Barris in 1962, and printed at a later date. These photographs of Marilyn Monroe are part of a series entitled "The Last Photos". They were taken at the North Hollywood home of Barris' close friend, just two weeks before Marilyn Monroe's death and are considered to be last photos ever taken of the icon. Each photograph is hand signed by Barris on the recto and bear the copyright stamp that reads "George Barris/Marilyn Monroe, Edward Weston Collection, All Rights Reserved" from 1987 on the verso.
