About the Item
Eric Mitchell on the set of The Foreigner: Chelsea Hotel, Manhattan, 1978 by Fernando Natalici:
Cooler than cool, "The Foreigner" was photographed on the set of the Amos Poe directed film of the same title - a seminal work which has been documented in virtually every publication pertaining to the history of the late 70's New York Downtown Art scene. This swanky, historic photo features Eric Mitchell, an actor who played a pivotal role in the New York No Wave scene of the time. Shot in-between takes during the filming of Amos Poe’s The Foreigner at the Chelsea Hotel, where Eric plays Menace a character unwanted by society that takes refuge at SROs and furnished rooms in Manhattan. Considered by AMC as a primordial Punk Classic film. Cut!
