Nick Brandt is a contemporary English photographer. His work focuses on the disappearing natural world. Since 2001, he has photographed the changing African continent and established a style of portrait photography of animals in the wild.
Elephant on Bare Earth, Amboseli belongs to the latest of his trilogies 'Across the Ravaged Land (2010-2012)'. In this series Brandt shows a darker vision of a world still filled with a stunning beauty, but now tragically tainted and fast disappearing at the hands of man.

- Amanda in Red & Pink – Emma Summerton, Fashion, Woman, Erotic, Red, Lips, SkirtBy Emma SummertonLocated in Zurich, CHEMMA SUMMERTON (*1970, Australia) Amanda in Red & Pink, 2016 Archival pigment print on Hahnemühle paper Sheet 160 x 120 cm (63 x 47 1/4 in.) Edition of 3, plus 2 AP; Ed. no. 1/3 print only Emma Summerton (*1970 Australia) graduated from the National Art School in Sydney, where she studied fine arts majoring in Photography. Summerton moved to London in 1998, where she worked as an assistant to artist Fiona Banner while starting her career as a photographer. Her breakthrough as a professional photographer came with the collaboration with Terry de Havilland in 2004/2005, from which her first solo exhibition, titled Landed at the Christophe Guye Galerie shows from August 29 to November 23 2019 a large selection of the most important works. Since then Summerton has established herself as one of the most talented photographers to emerge in the mid 2000's. Her in-depth technical knowledge coupled with her eye for detail and love for fashion have made her images not only unique but very distinctive, setting her apart from other photographers working in the industry today. Summerton's work revolves around the themes of fashion, love, desire and intimacy. Her Polaroid works are part of a project Summerton started in 1999 as a series of Self Portraits, firstly as visual love letters to her then partner and also in an attempt to re-find her voice with photography. ‘My mother was a dressmaker, and in school, she would make me dresses to wear to dances based on drawings I made,’ she says. Back then, costumes were an access point to unleash Summerton’s imagination. In her ‘Polaroid experiments’, as she calls them, costumes again became a vehicle for her to express her inner life. Summerton’s Editorial Clients include: Italian, British, American, German, Australian, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese Vogue’s, i-D, Self Service, Dazed & Confused, The Last magazine,10 and Big Magazine. - Floating Bust, Brazil, 1997By Barnaby HallLocated in Hudson, NYABOUT After 30 years of only exhibiting fine art photography, the Robin Rice Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition featuring a selection of her gallery photographers and three visual artists new to the space: Erica Hauser, and Matt Kinney. The selected works of these well-established Beacon, NY artists blend with the gallery’s fine art photography. Upon entering the gallery, viewers will encounter figurative sculptures, abstract paintings, and ink wash drawings alongside fine art photography. Since Robin Rice’s move to Beacon, NY, this concept developed organically; the group exhibition is a fusion of artistic mediums inspired by chance encounters between Rice and friends at art events in Beacon. After spending time with creatives who've spent lockdown in studios, Rice carefully chose works most apropos with her edited inventory of framed photography. Through these chance encounters Rice found inspiration to create this exhibition unlike anything seen before at the gallery and curated an immersive experience. Maintaining her expert aesthetic, Rice has brought together a mosaic of mediums that seamlessly fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Kinney's collection of ink wash paintings in Japanese Sumi ink and watercolor paintings on hand-torn paper render fleeting glimpses of figures and animals as well as primal symbols. Tasmania Spiral is a hypnotic work that resembles a gyre. Also in focus is Hauser’s collection of abstract paintings featuring an alluring vintage color palette...Category
