Chromogenic Print Size: 40x40 inches Andrew Gershon has been a tastemaker in music for the past 25 years, discovering and nurturing careers of The Smashing Pumpkins, Moby, and The White Stripes. Pioneering the Grunge movement of the early 1990s, Gershon left the US for Italy for a brief time but returned to New York to work with Sir Richard Branson in which he revived the V2 label with artists such as Moby, The White Stripes and made the Grammy award nominated and winning records for Toots & The Maytals and the soundtrack to the film “I Am Sam”. Throughout his career Gershon has always been an avid photographer with shows in New York City, Los Angeles and Kansas City exhibiting his “Photourists” series alongside the publishing of a limited edition monograph of “Photourist” through Daniel 13 Publishing to accompany the exhibition. “Photourist” is part of the 20 year Horse & Buggy Press exhibit that showed in the Contemporary Art Museum of Raleigh, NC. Outside of the music industry, Gershon’s beach photos of the Hamptons, taken from a kite at his favorite East End beaches, are a favorite amongst those who live and vacation there. Michelle Farmer Collaborate in Bridgehampton exhibited selections from this on going series throughout the summer of 2015. Gershon's series, “Concert Tickets 1978 – 1995”, opened Oct. 2015 with Castor Gallery on the Lower East Side in New York City. It received wide acclaim and was exhibited at Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles, CA. Curators and collectors in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, including many of the musicians he has worked with over the years, currently collect his work.
