About the Item

;Monet's Apples Oil on Linen, 14 x 24 Inches Charlotte Gibbs recently had the distinct honor of being awarded First Prize in The Roddy Compeition held at the Concord Center for Visual Arts in Concord, MA where she was singled out among 560 submissions for this award by Katherine French (former Director of the Danforth Museum. current Curator of Catamount Arts, and voted "Best Curator of Locally Made Art" at the Boston Art Awards). She has had 3 one-person exhibitions at the Beth Urdang Gallery in Boston where she has been represented since 2004 and has been included in over 25 group shows, primarily in the New England area where the artist resides. Olga Antonova’s subject is compositions of extraordinarily elegant, beautiful and whimsical cups, plates, teapots, and dishes, but there is something playful about these paintings. Stacked teacups are also amusing, having a kind of jaunty and upbeat personality of their own. Polka dots are as endearing to adults as to children, and everyone responds to the bling and sparkle of gold and silver while marveling at Antonova’s seemingly effortless ability to paint these radiant details...
