Sometimes, when I’m stuck in a painting rut, I challenge myself to do the one thing I least could imagine myself doing, let alone well. So that is how the figures started. My process often starts with a simple line drawing, and then I add layer after layer, incorporating unusual color combinations of acrylic paint, spray paint, oil pastels and colored pencils. I often go back and forth between some type of drawing and painting.
