Provenance Acquired by the gallery directly from the artist Description “Running Waters” is a plein air painting done in Taos, New Mexico. Solliday depicts the Rio Peublo de Taos, a tributary of the Rio Grande, as flowing abundantly after the winter thaw. The sky is clearing, the stately pine trees have survived the cold winter, and the marshy grass will soon be green again. Dimensions: Unframed 16" x 12" --- Framed 23" x 19"

The artist currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Nikolina is interested in humanity’s philosophical connection with Nature and strives to expose the consequences our everyday actions have on the environment. Her work explores the symbolism of textures found in Nature, magnifying the mundane and transforming it into the sublime. Kovalenko works with fragile ecosystems creating artwork inspired by locations specific to each project. Her subjects range from global warming, deforestation and coral bleaching, to processing and interpreting visual landscape and cultural associations.
