About the Item
Everything feels right on a breezy afternoon sailing in a glistening cove! Even the rocks and shells on the sand are illuminated by the warm rays of the sun. The gentle motion of the sailboat as it glides across the water is expertly depicted by the carefully applied brush strokes of marine painting expert and Fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists Neal Hughes. The turquoise blue water is compelling against the subtly multi-dimensional tans and beige of the adjacent rocks and beach in this original marine landscape. Hughes graduated from the Philadelphia School of Art and has dedicated himself to painting original oil paintings for forty years. This multiple award winning artist 's endless list of accolades include twice receiving the Award of Excellence from the International Maritime Art Exhibition at the renowned Marine Art Gallery at Mystic Seaport as well as the Best Associate Award of Excellence from the Oil Painters of America in their 2019 National Exhibition and the Grand Prize at the Utrecht 60th Anniversary Art Competition that had 12,000 entries. This original marine landscape oil painting would enhance any collector's portfolio. The seascape is presented in a gold metal leaf plein air frame that has a warm patina with some signs of distressing.

- Along the Maine Coast, original 30x34 impressionist marine landscapeBy James McGinleyLocated in Spring Lake, NJAlong the Maine coast, the surf can be turbulent, the tide ferocious, the skies exquisite, the rocks unyielding. In this original marine landscape you can feel the roll of the waves, hear them pounding upon the rock wall, and actually see the changing colors of the shadows as the sun begins it's dramatic descent. The white of the waves contrasts with the purple sky in fantastic contrast to the multi-tonal stone that both catches the sun and it's prisms and the mossy green penetration of the unrelenting wave action.
