About the Item

Wonderful mid-century landscape of Palm Springs Desert by Marjorie Blake (American, 1920-1994). Signed lower right corner. Condition: good; normal edge wear for age. Unframed. Image size: 20"H x 24"W. Marjorie May Gulley Blake was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 22, 1920. Blake studied fashion design at Otis Art Institute and for awhile worked as a costumer at MGM. Her early paintings were inspired by impressionism; whereas, her later works were abstract. She died in Los Angeles on July 15, 1994.
