19th century English River landscape with figures, horses, cottage, sheep

About the Item

Well painted and very interesting composition attributed to the English landscape painter john Frederick Tennant. His work is very similar to this piece in the use of many different groups of figures, all painted with the same quality. This piece dates from circa 1840 and has alot of the style of the early Victorian painteers such aas F.R.Lee and Alfred Vickers Senior. This piece is an oil on canvas and is framed in a period 19th century English frame, which might be the original to the painting.
