A very beautiful French Post-Impressionist oil painting on canvas, by the well listed and sought after French painter, Bertrand Mogniat-Duclos (French 1903-1987). The painting is signed and has excellent pedigree, having come from the artists estate in France.
Born in 1903 in Sedan (Ardennes), Bertrand Mogniat-Duclos (1903-1987) was a painter of genre, figures, nudes, animated landscapes, still-lives, illustrator.
He settled early in Paris. He often travelled to Italy, especially to Venice. He also painted Parisian landscapes and some from various French regions. Participated in many shows and group exhibitions in France (including all the major Paris Salons) and abroad, between 1926 and the fifties. Personal exhibitions in the Parisian galleries, including with the famous dealers Bernheim-Jeune, in 1930, 1940, 1948 and until 1955, especially in Galerie Katia Granoff. He worked a lot with Amédée de La Patelliere, his friend.
