Watercolor of farmland in a valley by Alfred E. Schneider (American, 1929-2016). Signed and dated "ALFRED SCHNEIDER 1954" in the lower left corner. Presented in a giltwood frame with glass. Image size: 10"H x 8"W
Alfred was born the son of Edward and Ellen (Hirn) Schneider on March 15, 1929 at his family's home in Rocksprings, WI. Alfred began his working career in delivery for Standard Oil Co. and later was employed in highway construction. In 1967, he began farming and continued hog farming in the township of Calamus until his retirement. Alfred enjoyed painting especially oil painting and was a member of the Columbus Art Association.
