Each small village in the South of France is always charming and full of history. I like to paint the old houses and their uniqueness.
About the Artist
Elizabeth Elkin’s paintings express a love and romanticism for travel. Her impressionist cityscapes have an optimistic and fantastical quality. Whether she is painting New York, or a small village in Europe, the scenes are equally idealistic, as if seen through the lens of a fairytale. The many layers of paint glow through each other, and create an atmospheric sense of light and space. Her work allows the viewer to see the city, or town, as it should be experienced, on its most perfect day, when there is nowhere else you would rather be.
