'Bilitis' songs' by Yuriy Zakordonets is a beautifully painted art piece: the figurative, portrait storyline of two nude female bodies placed on the canvas as a pattern, as an ornament on a tribal design, interlinked into one single holistic composition. We can be unsure if we are looking at a contemporary painting or at tribal, tattoo-like wall decor. Interchained beautiful women's bodies creating a diagonal line make the work dynamic and full of harmony at the same time. Red and black contrast adds drama to the subject and establishes a connection with African decor and elements of cave drawings. The artwork can be a fabulous addition to bohemian design or rustic style interior. It is an original unique art piece that is in excellent condition (new). It is shipped along with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated by the artist. You will receive the artwork rolled up in a tube. Additional framing or setting the canvas up on wooden stretchers is required. Yuriy Zakordonets has a very peculiar style. He has worked with different materials: wood, metal, and canvas—but also leather, which almost became his signature, like a “proof of origin” of his art. Ukraine is a country where farming is very well integrated into the economy. Many people have (or used to have) connections to rural life. And leather is somewhat a symbol of stability, original crafts, local business, hard work... His works include elements of cave paintings; lines are soft, human bodies are rather symbolic and tattooed and images are graphic. They remind us of ancient alphabets. The lines create a labyrinth, a maze where you can easily get lost… His work amazes us by its aesthetic as well as its power of traditional art. It is authentic and it has decorative magic. His art career started in the early 1980s when he took part in various exhibitions dedicated to painting, graphics, and design as an artist, coordinator, and curator. Since then, over the years, Yuriy has successfully combined multiple art community leadership roles with his personal exhibitions which took place in Odessa (Ukraine), Riga (Latvia), Tallinn (Estonia), Chicago (US). His artworks are included in private collections in Europe, Australia, Asia, the US, and Africa.
