According to the Gospels, Pilate ordered the execution and crucifixion of this Jewish preacher at the end of the trial of Jesus, which gave this simple provincial governor exceptional notoriety.
The painting representing The high priests summoned the elders and the scribes, and the whole Supreme Council. Then, after tying Jesus up, they took him away and delivered him to Pilate.
Jean-Paul Laurens born March 28, 1838 in Fourquevaux and died , 1921 in Paris is a French sculptor and painter, famous for its historical scenes.
