Pierluca Ferdinando Nando (1912-1987) Italian. "Les Deux Amies" Two Semi Naked Women lying on a Bed, Oil on Canvas, Signed and Extensively Inscribed, canvas measures: 57 x 45 inches framed and with perspex front Stunning quality original oil painting by the famous Italian painter, Pierluca Ferdinando Nando (1912-1987). Painted on this epic scale, depicting two lovers embraced on a bed. It is a magnificent and superb example of this work. Born in 1912 in Venice Italy, Nando is among the most renowned painters of the mid 20th century in Italy. Nando worked in Assisi, St Francis of Assisi, near Perugia, in the region of Umbria and Milan, Italy. 1951, Nando leaves Italy for Paris, France, where the mentality was more open to accept Nando’s new expression of art, in black and white, which will evolve into colour in the late 70s. Indeed, Nando’s paintings are stimulated now by the passion of drawing full body forms of nude women, with voluptuous breasts, thighs and hair-dos, elegant thin, long hands, with majestic eyes catching your first attention to the painting. This topic will be Nando’s favorite subject that he will master until his death in 1987 in Milan, Italy. Prior to us, the painting was in a private collection in France. Condition report: good; frame has minor surface scuffs.
