About the Item
Faraglioni is an original artwork realized by Max Roeder in the first years of the XX Century.
Original oil painting on wood table.
Hand-signed on the lower left corner.
An original Neapolitan golden engraved wood included.
The work in is very good conditions, the frame is in fair conditions.
Very beautiful and dark view on the seaside of Capri with the know Faraglioni. The work has a typical Northern Style: the surface of the sea and the sky are grey and the rocks has an intense, obscure, black color that contrasts with the cold light of the sky.
Max Roeder (Gladbach, 1866 - Rome, 1941). Max Roeder was a painter of landscapes and architecture and worked as a teacher. He arrived in Italy in 1886 and, in 1888 he settled in Rome, participating in the exhibitions of the Society of Amateur and Cultor of Fine Arts; he painted landscapes and views of the Roman countryside from which he drew various engravings.
