About

Chris Plunkett’s “Point Norfolk” is a 30 x 30 x 2.5 inch contemporary urban landscape oil painting on birch panel that captures a small winter nook of the Point Norfolk section of Boston, Massachusetts. This plein air rendering is composed of thick layered paint used to emphasize the brick red shadow and bright red light along side intense white snow and long grey cast shadows that are commonplace during late afternoon snowy days. The calming balance of man made architecture and natural beauty of winter evokes a serene mood tucked into a small corner of the cityscape. Chris Plunkett is a Boston-based painter. Plunkett’s focus on the urban landscape is inspired by where he interacts regularly. His paintings have been sold to collectors all around New England as well as New York and California.
