Rudolf Kosow uses three essential elements in his work: human, animal and nature. Rudolf Kosow tries to transcend the border of pure realism and is constantly on the lookout for new image content and motifs. This creates surrealistic relationships between humans, animals and nature, which are unlikely in real life or completely impossible.
Another important element in many works of Rudolf Kosow is the light and its representation in the
painting. Since ancient times, human longs for the heat that creates a fire, of course, this heat is also
associated with light: thus, a strong light source for us humans has a very attractive and magical effect. Human and animal searching for this light is a longing that should never end.
In more recent works Rudolf Kosow plays again in the sense of surrealism with completely absurd and unrealistic proportions between human and animal.
