Narcisse VIVIEN (19th Century) Bird Nest in a Busch Oil on canvas signed low left Golden Frame Dim canvas : 54 X 65 cm Dim Frame : 74 X 85 cm Narcisse VIVIEN (19th Century)A French painter and engraver. Born in Paris. He graduated from Paris School of Fine Arts (1858). He lived and worked mainly in Paris. Regularly exhibited at the Salon Des Artistes Francais, where he gained the title of the Honorary member (1886). The main themes of his work are the animalistic plots. His painting is distinguished by the elegant techniques which are specific to the engraver. Bibliography : E. Benezit, Dictionary of Artist Book 14
