About the Item
Artist Comments
Painterly pink sheep group together with a cloudy blue sky behind. Part of Lesli DeVito's long running series of sheep, pairing these gentle animals with clever titles to represent human thoughts and groups. Of this painting, Lesli says, "What if whatever lies 'over the hill' is far more meaningful and enlightened than anything we attribute to youth? I like to think we only get better with age."
About the Artist
Lesli Devito can't quite remember when she started painting, just that she's been doing it for quite a while now. With no formal training, Lesli took her own path and experimented with different types of paint. Eventually, she settled on something unconventional: acrylic house paint. She hopes that her works will "take people to their happy place." Lesli also created a blog called My Old Country House in which she writes about her life, art and other adventures.

Artist Jessica JH Roller paints whimsical and playful compositions of animals and people, marked by bold colors and primitivist linework. She distills a scene into a few simple shapes, using color to create contrast and vibrancy, often choosing palettes that reflect pop culture. "My adopted kittens, Tony and Larry, opened my eyes and unleashed the artist inside me," shares Jessica. "After, I started to notice birds, trees, color, everything." Jessica brings to life her dynamic creations in the comfort of her studio in her century-old home. She enjoys listening to music and audiobooks while painting with her 18-year-old acrylic-covered easel.
