About
Beautiful abstract landscape by American artist, Judith Ingram (1926-2012). Spring Rain, ca. 1967. Oil on canvas measures 30 x 36 inches; 31 x 37 inches in simple wood strip gold frame. Signed lower right. A small patch on back has been applied by artist to repair a small hole PRIOR to painting the composition. Consequently, there is no damage to paint surface. Very clean with no damage or conservation.
This piece is a very fine example from Ingram's colorist period from the 1960's. Compositions consisted largely of abstract arrangements suggesting landscapes. She is notable for being a Philadelphia abstract expressionist woman artist active during the 1960's. Later, her preferred medium switched to hand-made paper and ceramics.
