About the Item

Oil on canvas Harry James Moody is a German artist born in 1952 who lives and works in Los Angeles, United States. He received his training as artist at the Frankfurt Stadel Fine Art Academy, Frankfurt, Germany. He specialized in free painting under the supervision of professors Johannes Schreiter, Thomas Bayrle and Josef Beuys. In 1986, also at the Stadel Academy, he was introduced to the works and philosophies of then-incumbent Professor Gerhard Richter, who ultimately deeply influenced the artistic direction Harry James Moody would embark on. He participated in many art fairs in Maastricht, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt. He is also an author and art critic for Art-i-fact, independent curator for the Bellevue Art Museum in Seattle and the Ukai Museum in Tokyo. He was a member of the board of directors of the Seattle Fine Art Academy. Throughout his professional career, Harry Moody has pursued a dialogue about artistic ideals and the need to express oneself artistically. He has notably exhibited at the Stadel Museum in Frankfurt and at Landes Museum in Wiesbaden in Germany.
