Urethane rubber wall sculpture that has a wavy texture. The works are apart of the "Tidal Phase" named by the artist. The works are mounted by plastic mounts attached to the back of the work. The work is not framed. The rubber is also sensitive to UV light, informed to us by the artist. It is best to be hung in an area that is not in front of a window or exposed to direct light. Artist Biography: Kirk McCarthy is a mixed media sculptor whose work alludes to eccentric systems, unseen forces of nature, and processes in operation that we cannot always perceive; the interconnectedness of things can show up in unpredictable ways. Innovative use of materials, conceptual adventures, and physical experimentation drive his work. Kirk McCarthy has a BFA in Ceramics from the California College of Arts, an MFA in Ceramics from Rhode Island School of Design, an MFA in Sculpture from the University of Washington, and a MID (Masters in Industrial Design) from the University of the Arts.
