Artist about herself:
In my works I move between various symbols.
The language of geometry is close to me, I perceive it as metaphorical and open to space for interpretation at the level of intuition and feeling.
On the other hand, I use archetypes from the world of nature: mountain, moon, horizon, water, road.
I am inspired by modernism and constructivism. In these currents I find rhythms and phenomena that I also see in nature. I strive to combine these two realities. My work is often a dream of a great escape.
Monika Stolarska Born in 1986, Warsaw, Poland. Artist, painter, author of illustrations, collages and graphics.
Education:
2005 - 2011 - studies at The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw , Master of Fine Arts, diploma with honours, major: Painting (prof. Wiesław Szamborski),
minor: Art in public places ( prof. Mirosław Duchowski).
2009 - probation scholarship at The Academy of Fine Arts in Sophia, Bulgaria.
