The act of “accumulating” things much like Duchamp and Arman from the street. Works are violent, dangerous, racial, and relevant to our time. Like Jean-Michel Basquiat, Michael has a gift of representing the moment and illustrating his time: a time of celebrity, palm pilots, TV, and so forth. His process is so raw that it brings new meaning to his imagery. There lies a tension between his subject matter and his process.
