This is from my series, "States of Water United." I was thinking of how precious our waters are for our survival and how much we waste without even being aware of it. I live in California where we just broke an 8 year drought and I am so ever grateful for our last year's rains! I will never take it for granted again! This artwork is a diptych. The top panel is 16x32 inches and the bottom panel is 32x32. The piece was made with acrylic, oil, and collage on cradled wood panels with finished blue sides.
About the Artist
Leslie grew up in the desert and all the while lusted after the ocean. Her work is strongly influenced by her obsession with water and love of swimming. Nautical and aquatic motifs dominate her various series. To create her compositions, Leslie sources vintage photographs from libraries and museum stock collections to collage into her art. Her combination of photography and painting is intended to represent memories and emotions, respectively. Leslie brings together a wry humor, childlike joy, and an undertone of feminism to remind of us times past and offer us a roadmap for the future. Now a resident of San Francisco, Leslie is surrounded by water in her life and work.

Artist Rick "Marlowe" Schneider depicts a captivating landscape of one of the most scenic areas in the United States, Lake Tahoe. The viewer is situated on a high terrain looking down at the vast body of water through tall and lush pine trees. Rick presents a vibrant dimensional display created from handmade papers that cast natural shadows depending on how the light hits the surface. This piece is a triptych, composed of three separate 36 x 12-inch panels.About the Artist

Four playful penguins wobble and walk up and down seaside rocks. Utilizing hand-cut papers, artist Rick "Marlowe" Schneider portrays the playful birds with fun and intriguing expressions. The dimensional piece pops with vibrant colors and eye-catching hues of aqua, yellow and blue.About the Artist
Artist Rick "Marlowe" Schneider creates mixed-media collages, combining the use of handmade paper with a raised dimensional technique. "This process produces distinct shadows which make the imagery jump off the canvas," says Rick. His work is a contemporary nod to 1930s and 1940s graphic design. By bringing together bold color combinations and patterns with quirky typefaces, Rick's work embodies the fun and elegant movie posters of Hollywood's Golden Age. Inspiration for his narratives comes from his father who was a pulp fiction writer. His loft studio in Leland, North Carolina, houses his archive of pulp magazines and stories from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. "My workspace is cluttered with canvases and handmade paper that I have imported from Thailand. It may be impossible to walk around but the atmosphere is perfect for creating."Words that describe this painting: penguins, colorful, bold, animal, sealife, playful, kids, nursery, dimensional, collage, wildlife, pop, animals, pop, mixed media artwork, beige
