About
'Puzzled II' by Hijack is a silkscreen and mixed media painting on canvas, created in 2020. Signed by the Artist, this work possesses striking subject matter and the street-style flair Hijack has become well-known for. ‘Puzzled II’ comes in metallic floating frame with wire on reverse, ready to install. 'Puzzled II' was initially created as a commentary on the seemingly insurmountable political and cultural divide, however, Hijack commented that his iconic piece has a message that can also apply to most human relationships in life. Hijack has made a name for his signature 'street art' style, playing off of the style of BANKSY and Mr. Brainwash. Hijack’s work is a cultural commentary on the contemporary world that is humorous, refreshing, and thought-provoking. Hijack’s namesake is his alter ego as a young street artist prodigy, visually making waves against traditional thinking with his vibrant messages and activist ideology. Hijack’s works are a revelation in street art – imaginative, brilliantly constructed and seen in cultural hot spots around the globe. Hijack has crafted a persona, inspired by the spirit of music and the poetry of everyday moments, that creates colorful and meaningful perspectives on life. This artwork comes with the Arton seal of approval for authenticity, quality and exquisite condition. Questions on this piece? Send us a note or call us directly.
HIJACK, born in 1992, started as an underground street artist, silently stenciling the streets at night. In April 2013, Hijack took the United Kingdom art scene by storm with his gallery debut at the prestigious Mead Carney Fine Art gallery on Dover Street in London. The show was so highly anticipated that it sold out and extended, due to incredulous high demand. Works including, “Never too Young to Dream Big” and “Perfection is False,” struck a chord with the crowd. When Hijack took his vision to the streets, spraying a stencil of “Never too Young to Dream Big” in London, it quickly caught the attention of UK news outlets and websites. The Mead Carney exhibition garnered buzz and Hijack’s landmark debut was featured in Art of England’s June 2013 issue, Huffington Post UK, The Art Newspaper, & The Telegraph, to name just a few. In October of 2013, Hijack was invited, along with Mr. Brainwash, to do an exhibit at the Dieresis Cultural Center in Guadalajara, Mexico. The exhibit was extended for months, attracting large crowds, drawing a mass of media attention, and delighting art collectors and audiences internationally. 2014 proved to be an incredible year for Hijack, propelling his meteoric rise within the art scene. In June, Hijack mounted a solo show at Galerie Moretti & Moretti, one of Paris’ best contemporary galleries, entitled “Life Through Street Art.” In November, Hijack had his Asian debut, with an exhibition at Japan’s Gallery 21. The Gallery 21 show created an avalanche of press for Hijack, including a feature in Vogue Japan. In addition to his gallery shows and solo street art installations, Hijack also collaborates with other internationally-renowned street artists, including New York’s Cope and Japan’s Dragon 76. In early 2015, Hijack continued to take his art all over the globe with a show at the Artvera’s Gallery in Gstaad, Switzerland at the Gstaad Palace Hotel, done in partnership with Swiss watchmaker, Hublot. The winter setting was the perfect place for Hijack’s stark and colorful pieces, thirty of which he debuted at this vibrant and dramatic exhibition. While his art was being exhibited in Switzerland, Hijack’s works were also on display at the Wall Street Gallery in Beverly Hills for the group show, “Revolution”. The Wall Street Gallery show contained several of Hijack’s captivating works including, “You can mimic the result but not the creativity”. In 2016, Hijack created a limited edition series of skateboards in collaboration with other artists such as Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, and John Baldessari. His exhibitions have been sensational and brought fresh energy to 2017 ArtMiami and Art Palm beach. For Hijack, art is a lifestyle and a passion. His signature style, steeped in positivity, presents a bright future for the next generation of contemporary artists. He is based currently in Los Angeles, California where he continues to work as a street artist and contemporary phenomenon.
