Bunny Yeager, the pre-eminent female pin-up photographer of the 20th century took this fun and playful portrait during a photo-shoot at Hobbyland, Florida. Two models pose with a taxidermied alligator, one climbs on the animal's back while the other bravely stickers her head inside his open mouth.
In an effort to capitalize on the booming popularity of color photography, Bunny took some of her old black & white film photographs and hand-painted them, usually with a combination of airbrushing, watercolor, and gouache. The result was these vibrant and boldly colored, decorative photos that capture the playful spirit and charm of Bunny's photo shoots.
The photograph has been mounted to a display board. This has been professionally matted and is ready for framing.
